京都の100年町家の創造的保存

築100年の町家と土蔵に、「再生的保存」の視点を。
静けさをまとったグレーの空間に、夜にはふわりと提灯のあかりが灯ります。
既存建築を活かしながら中央に大きな吹き抜けを設け、京都に根ざす“移ろい”や“余白”の美しさを、現代の感性で再構成しました。
商品や人の気配が、空間とやわらかく響き合うようにデザインしています。

Creative preservation for 100-year-old KYOTO traditional house

A perspective of our concept“CREATIVE PRESERVATION” is brought to a 100-year-old townhouse and earthen storehouse.

A quiet grey space is softly illuminated by lantern light at night.

In the main house, we preserved the original structure while introducing a large central void—reconstructing Kyoto’s aesthetics of transition and emptiness purely through shadow and light.

Within this restrained palette, the GOODS seem to quietly emerge on their own.

In the KURA (earthen storehouse), we retained curved mud walls and weathered structural elements wherever possible, inheriting the memory of craftsmanship and cultural history.

The design allows the presence of products—and of people—to gently resonate within the space.
