TSUMIKI は自然木でつくったシンプルでインタラクティブな積み木のような玩具。
三角形のピースは宮崎県諸塚村の杉7mmでつくられていて、角は建具職人の熟練技術「ぬきさし」という技術で補強しています。
細く軽いピースは、工夫次第でいろいろなかたちになり、どこまでも積みあがっていきます。
製品発表の際には六本木ミッドタウンで、スケールアップされた無数のTSUMIKIをひろげ、子供だけでなく大人まで楽しめるイベント広場をつくりました。
インスタレーションや町をつくるワークショップを世界中で行っています。
TSUMIKI is a set of wooden blocks that design for interactive game. This special structure of the wooden blocks can be construct into varies forms. Geometry of the wooden block is a symmetrical V-shape structure with two V shape indent at both ends. Original material is from the cedar in Morotsuka village, Miyazaki prefecture. 7mm-thick corner reinforcement is use by a traditional Japanese method for joinery called “Nukisashi”, to build this light system of TSUMIKI. Inspired by traditional Japanese architecture, every TSUMIKI unit can be stacked and arranged into varies from of figure without using nails and bolt for structure connection. The design is debuted in Tokyo Design Week as an installation named Open-to-Public and Out-of-Scale in Mid-Town park. Furthermore, this workshop like event has been exhibit and held around the world.
