The “HAYAMA KACHI TEI,” for which we were responsible for the design and creative direction, won the Gold Award in the Service & Hospitality Spaces category at the Japan Spatial Design Award 2021.

■About the Japan Spatial Design Award
(Organized by: Japan Commercial Environmental Design Association and Japan Spatial Design Association)※Until 2018, the awards existed separately as the JCD and DSA Awards, and 2021 marked the third year since their integration.
※The award is run in partnership with Germany’s iF Design Award.
※2021 jurors (honorifics omitted) included Taku Sato, Masaki Yokokawa, Ryu Kosaka, Manabu Chiba, Taro Igarashi, Yuko Nagayama, and others.

■Selection Process

・Submissions were accepted from April to June, receiving a total of 887 entries.

・A web-based preliminary screening produced a longlist of 303 works.

・From these, 10 works per category were selected as the shortlist.

・On September 25, the public judging announced the Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners in each category.

・In November, at the award ceremony held in Tokyo, the overall grand prize, Kukan of the Year, was announced across all categories.

・4月～6月応募受付し887作品が集まる

・WEB一次審査によりLonglist 303作品が選定

・11のジャンルごと10作品がshortlistとして選出

・9月25日公開審査にてジャンルごとの金、銀、銅賞を発表

・11月に都内で開催授賞式にて部門を超えた大賞である「Kukan of the year」が発表
